Ocean NJ: Li Wang ID'd as cyclist killed at Roller and Deal roads

OCEAN TOWNSHIP−Authorities have identified the woman killed in a crash at the intersection of Roller and Deal roads Friday morning.

Li Wang, 62, was riding her Schwinn bicycle on the sidewalk along Roller Road shortly before 8:30 a.m. when she stopped for a traffic light at the intersection. According to a preliminary investigation, as she tried to cross Deal Road on a green light while inside the crosswalk, she was struck by a 2017 Ford E-350 Econoline box truck driven by a 33-year-old Keyport man, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond S. Santiago said in a statement.

The box truck had been traveling south on Roller Road and turned left onto Deal Road on a green light when the collision occurred, he said. The name of the man, who was not injured, was not released.
